Could The Karnataka Government’s Own Ride-Hailing App Be Good For The State?

What does the landscape of ride-hailing look like in Karnataka? Drivers in Karnataka are said to have long-standing grievances regarding hefty commissions imposed by private aggregators, like Uber and Ola. There’s a union called the Auto Rickshaw Driver’s Union which had initially supported an app called Namma Yatri. But, the union was said to have severed ties with the app, because drivers were said to receive only about 50% of total earnings. The remainder is said to be taken by aggregators.
