It has a deficit of 2 billion square feet of healthcare real estate. And it’s said to have a bed-to-population ratio of 1.3 beds per 1000 people. Compare that to the World Health Organization’s recommended ratio of 3 beds per 1000 people. According to the math, that means that India needs about 2.4 million additional beds. What could be causing this demand for the healthcare industry in India? Sick people, obviously.
