As we approach 2024, there seems to be a profound question to ask: With India’s digital evolution having a crossover moment with people’s everyday lives, how can progress and protection be balanced? It’s a question that has to do with how India can grapple with the nuances of privacy. Especially when data is the new currency. So, how is India carving its identity in the digital age? How are people, themselves, navigating the convenience of connectivity, while also, allowing for some sanctity in their personal space? In 2023, it seemed like India’s big moment in privacy was the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. This was passed in India in August 2023.
