In India, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is said to be at the helm of India’s Road Transport and Highways. In December 2023, at an event, he emphatically stated that he would not allow driverless cars in India at any cost. He remarked that driverless vehicles were only suitable for countries with smaller populations.
