Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited is a subsidiary of Tata Power. In October 2023, it was announced that the Assam Government had partnered with Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited through an MoU.
This could be a leap towards a greener and more sustainable future for Guwahati, which is in Assam. There would be a comprehensive EV charging infrastructure introduced, which could impact how the city’s residents commute and the environmental footprint they leave behind.
It is said that Tata Power would install a network of 10 advanced EV chargers throughout Guwahati. It is said that this would cater to the city’s high-traffic areas, including Dispur. The goal is not just to introduce EV chargers, but to alleviate range anxiety while driving EVs in Assam. Range anxiety is the fear of running out of battery charge while driving.
Tata Power is said to have a market share of nearly 60% in the EV charging sector. The charging infrastructure managed by Tata Power is said to include a network of nearly 5000 public and semi-public charging points and close to 450 bus charging stations. So, the partnership could align with India’s commitment to adopting EVs and reducing carbon emissions.
