If you go back to 2015 and compare what India looks like, compared to 2025, you might be very very surprised.
The degree of innovation might be staggering with incremental updates and changes & yet, they might cease to amaze us, because of how used to we might be to how quickly India and the world are evolving. At the same time, you might have heard of India’s ambition to become a $5 trillion economy.
The ingredients to the recipe might be right there: a rapidly-growing startup ecosystem, people willing to spend more, a growing labour force, a high percentage of young people in India and more. But, what can be tangibly and realistically done to get there? Is it possible that digital innovation is not being fully or truly leveraged?
Look at India’s FinTech industry. It’s said that it was valued at close to $585 billion in 2022 and it’s on track to hit about $1.5 trillion this year. Is the industry cognizant to the fullest extent about all the possibilities and opportunities that lie before them from a digital innovation standpoint?
Or zoom out even further and look at entrepreneurship as a whole in India. Sure, you have something, like Shark Tank India, which has romanticized the entrepreneurship phenomenon. Yet, the statistics are worrisome. It’s said that about 90% of startups fail within the first 5 years. And it’s said that first-time entrepreneurs have close to a 20% chance of success.
So, what can change the fortunes of startups in India? How about maximizing their potential? Creating more efficiency? Making scalability an accomplishable goal? Properly leveraging what’s already out there, especially, when it’s said that India’s experienced and is continuing to experience this digital transformation?
Blockchain and AI are some technologies out there that many may have heard of, but not engaged with directly. Even if one doesn’t understand all the technical jargon, are there ways that businesses could smartly utilize them? Because entrepreneurs don’t have time to be dazzled by futuristic technology, they’re too busy running their startups, operating businesses and worrying about what the future looks like.
Maybe, when entrepreneurs are in the muck, possibilities don’t mean much, just solutions that make sense. All they may want to understand is how the tech may be valuable to them, how to understand them, whether it could deliver lucrative ROI and more.
So, now, maybe, it’s time to strike when the iron is hot. When people’s curiosity is piqued. When they may be in the headspace to listen. Plus, it’s said that India’s digital transformation could drive its financial ecosystem towards a $1 trillion digital economy real soon.
That’s why RizingTV – an inclusive business information network – is curating an offline event in Mumbai- “The RizingTV Digital Renaissance Summit 2025”. This would take place on 27th June 2025 to commemorate MSME Day.
