Acer is a Taiwanese multinational hardware and electronics company known for its laptops and electronics. And in October 2023, it was announced that Acer is taking a leap into the world of electric mobility.
The company is said to have ventured into the two-wheeler market with its new offering, which is the Acer Muvi 125 4G electric scooter. It is said that there’s a licensing agreement and eBikeGo, an electric mobility solutions startup, would produce electric two- and three-wheelers for Acer in the Indian market.
It’s said that this electric scooter could be custom-built for business-to-business applications. So, it could serve purposes, including food and grocery delivery. And it would come with swappable batteries.
Swappable batteries is when a depleted battery could be replaced with a fully charged one, So, there would have to be battery-swapping stations across the region for this to work. There seems to be a solid e-scooter market in India, with brands like Hero Electric, Ather Energy and Ola Electric.
