It is said that she would address concerns such as societal harms, bias, discrimination and misinformation. At the same time, US President Joseph Biden is said to have signed an executive order for the regulation of AI. The order is said to empower the federal government to establish security standards and privacy protections for new AI tools.
This directive is said to have an impact on tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon and Google. These companies would be required to submit test results for their new AI models to the government before releasing them to the public. It is also said that the executive order mandates that AI-generated content be appropriately labelled. It seems like there has been an advent of generative AI since late 2022 with OpenAI releasing ChatGPT to the public.
