And in September 2023, it was announced that Tesla has some plans to produce and market battery storage systems in India.
Battery storage systems are like big rechargeable batteries for homes and businesses.
They are said to store extra electricity when it’s available, like from solar panels.
These, then, provide power when needed, like during blackouts or at night.During meetings held in New Delhi, it was said that Tesla had presented its proposal to bolster India’s battery storage capabilities with the deployment of the Powerwall system.
Tesla’s proposition was said to come with a request for various incentives to establish a battery storage manufacturing facility within India.
It was said that Indian officials had conveyed their inability to provide the requested incentives.
It was said that the Indian government had suggested a potential alternative: the government could offer subsidies to consumers who purchase Tesla’s battery storage products.
