According to the Union Minister of State for Electronics & Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, it seems like Tata Group is set to venture into iPhone manufacturing in partnership with Apple. With Tata’s entry into iPhone production, India could be home to its first indigenous iPhone maker Which might just signify a leap forward in the “Make In India” initiative. Tata had acquired Wistron Corp’s Bengaluru plant for $125 million. Wistron Corp was responsible for producing Apple devices. India’s ascension as a global manufacturing hub may have been catalyzed by its PM Narendra Modi’s Production-Linked Incentive scheme, which was launched in 2021.
