Where is a burgeoning technology like generative AI going to take India? Maybe, pretty far. EY India was said to have released a report that forecasts a major shift in India’s economic trajectory. According to EY India, generative AI is poised to inject $1.2 trillion to $1.5 trillion into India’s GDP over the next 7 years. According to the report, in just FY 2029-2030 India could witness a substantial injection of between $359 billion – $438 billion. That could translate to about a 6% – 7% increase over and above what’s considered the baseline GDP. About 69% of this economic surge may be expected to come from sectors, like business services, financial services, education, retail and healthcare. So, maybe this could extend beyond just economic figures.
